Our Story

The Rouslan Johnny Youth Sports Foundation (RJYSF) was born out of love, loss, and a deep belief in the power of sport to transform lives.

Founded in 2025 in memory of Rouslan Johnny Agogho, RJYSF was created to honor not only Rouslan’s life, but the love that he and Jordan “Jae” McKinzie shared through movement, training, and sport. Strength training, basketball, performance, and caring for the body were not simply hobbies within their relationship — they were part of the language of their connection. Training together, talking about movement, discussing recovery, nutrition, performance, and health became some of the most meaningful parts of their bond and one of the greatest passions they shared.

Rouslan was deeply committed to his health and physical well-being. He cared about how he trained, how he recovered, and how he fueled his body. He trusted Jae not only as his partner, but as someone whose knowledge, guidance, and passion for human performance he deeply respected. Together, they spent countless hours discussing strength and conditioning, movement mechanics, injury prevention, long-term health, and what it truly meant to care for the body with intention.

Their relationship was rooted in resilience. Rouslan had previously overcome cancer, while Jae faced multiple chronic illnesses of her own. Both understood what it meant to fight for health, longevity, and strength. Those experiences deepened their connection and reinforced their shared belief that movement and education have the power to change lives.

As Jae pursued graduate studies in Strength & Conditioning and Clinical Exercise Physiology, Rouslan remained a constant source of encouragement and support. Their conversations expanded beyond athletics alone and often explored the relationship between performance and long-term wellness — discussing recovery, high blood pressure, nutrition, stress, alcohol intake, and the impact of daily choices on the body. Together, they came to understand that athletic performance and health cannot be separated.

Rouslan often spoke about the lack of access to proper strength and conditioning, recovery resources, and sports performance education during his early years playing basketball in Cameroon. He shared how many talented athletes were forced to rely on talent alone without access to the tools, coaching, and education needed to properly develop and protect their bodies. Those conversations revealed a larger need — that access to elite athletic development and health education should not be limited only to those with privilege or financial means.

That realization became the foundation of RJYSF.

Following Rouslan’s passing, Jae chose to channel grief into purpose — creating an organization that reflects the values, passions, and vision they shared together. Today, the Rouslan Johnny Youth Sports Foundation exists to empower youth through elite athletic development, mentorship, injury prevention education, and stroke and heart health awareness.

At its core, RJYSF believes that movement is more than exercise. Movement builds confidence, resilience, discipline, healing, and opportunity. Through partnerships with local orphanages, schools, and community organizations, the foundation works to expand access to high-quality training and health education for youth who may otherwise never receive those opportunities.

Whether a child becomes a professional athlete or simply discovers confidence and joy through movement, RJYSF believes every young person deserves the opportunity to train, grow, and believe in their potential.

The foundation stands as a reflection of the love Rouslan and Jae shared — a love rooted in movement, resilience, care for the body, and the belief that strength can change lives.
